Delete Your Stackabees Data

Stackabees, by Studio Salma, has no accounts and does not send your game data to us. Everything the game saves is kept on your device (and, if Android backup is on, in your Google account backup), so deleting it is in your hands. This page explains how.

The short answer

  • We don't hold any of your game data. There is nothing stored on our side to delete.
  • To delete your game data, clear the game's storage or uninstall the game (steps below).
  • If Android backup is on, a copy may also be in your Google account backup, which you manage through Google.
  • If you emailed us, or you joined a test, we can delete that information too. Just ask.

What the game keeps on your device

To remember your progress, Stackabees keeps a small save file in its own app storage on your device, plus a backup copy in case the main file gets damaged. The save file holds:

  • progress: which collectibles you have unlocked, your Collection Charge, the most recent Daily Challenges you completed and their dates, whether you have finished the tutorial, and any run in progress so you can carry on later;
  • play statistics: best score, total score, games played, lines cleared, highest combo and Daily Challenges completed;
  • settings: music, sound effects, haptics, Tap to Place, Reduced Motion, Reduced Sensory, High Contrast and language;
  • small technical values: the save format version; when the save was created and last changed; for a run in progress, a random code, the state of its piece shuffler and when it was last saved; the random code of the last run you finished; and small counters and records that make each free booster and bonus count only once (each record is a random code, and the game keeps at most 200).

If a save file is ever damaged, the game keeps the damaged copy beside it, with "corrupt" in its name, and carries on from the backup copy. Clearing the game's storage or uninstalling the game deletes these copies too.

The save file does not contain your name, email address, location, photos or any other personal information, and the game never sends it anywhere. The random codes are made up by the game itself. They are not your device's advertising ID or any other device identifier, and none of them say who you are.

The Unity game engine, which Stackabees is built with, may also keep a small settings file of its own. Clearing the game's storage or uninstalling the game deletes it too.

How to delete your game data

Option 1: Clear the game's storage (the game stays installed)

  1. Open your device's Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps (on some devices: Apps & notifications, then See all apps).
  3. Find and tap Stackabees.
  4. Tap Storage (or Storage & cache).
  5. Tap Clear storage (on some devices: Clear data) and confirm.

The next time you open Stackabees, it starts fresh, as if it had just been installed. Menu names vary a little between phone makers and Android versions.

Option 2: Uninstall the game

Uninstall Stackabees from your device, for example by pressing and holding its icon and choosing Uninstall, or through Manage apps & device in Google Play. This deletes the game and all of its data from that device.

Archiving the app (an option on newer Android versions, which Google Play can also do automatically for apps you rarely use) is not the same as uninstalling: it keeps your progress on the device.

Please note: both options are permanent. We can't recover deleted progress, because we never had a copy.

Android backup copies

If Android's backup feature is turned on, Android may include your saved game (the save file and its backup copy) in the backup it keeps in your Google account. The game lets Android copy only these two files, never the damaged copies or the game engine's own settings file. That way your progress can come back when you reinstall the game or set up a new phone. This backup is made and controlled by Android and your Google account, not by us. We can't see it, and we can't delete it.

  • Clearing the game's storage or uninstalling the game does not delete backups that Android has already made. A later backup from the same device may replace the old one, but backups from other or older devices stay until you or Google delete them.
  • To stop future backups, turn off backup in your device settings. It is often under Settings > Google > Backup or Settings > System > Backup, but names vary by device.
  • To delete existing backups now, delete the device backup in your Google account (on most phones: Google One or Google Drive > Backups). Google deletes the whole device backup, not just the Stackabees part.

Information we may hold outside the game

  • Emails you send us. If you email support@stackabees.com, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you and to fix problems you report. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Tester email addresses. If you joined a Stackabees test on Google Play, your Google account email address is on our tester list (or in our test Google Group). We remove these addresses when the test ends, or sooner if you ask. Removing your address also ends your access to the test.
  • Google Play statistics and crash reports. Google Play gives us summary statistics, such as the number of installs. If you have allowed your device to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, it also gives us technical reports about crashes. These can include your device model and Android version, but not your name or contact details. Because we cannot tell whose device sent a report, we can't find or delete one person's reports for you. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Play reviews. Reviews you post on Google Play are yours to control: you can edit or delete them in Google Play.

How to ask us to delete something

Email support@stackabees.com with "Delete my data" in the subject line. Please send it from the email address you used to contact us, or from your tester email address, and tell us what you would like deleted. We will delete it and confirm by email within the time the law where you live requires, and never later than 30 days after we receive your request. We won't ask you for ID or any extra personal information. If you write from a different address, we may ask you to confirm the request from the original one.

Parents and guardians: if you believe your child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Wherever you live. You can also use the other privacy rights that the law where you live gives you, and you can complain to your data protection authority at any time. Section 13 of our Privacy Policy lists the rights and the authorities country by country.

No account to delete

Stackabees has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. If a future version ever adds accounts or online features, we will update this page and our Privacy Policy before that version is released, including how to delete an account and its data.
